Emily Ann Olson

My name is Emily Olson, I am twenty years old from Cedar City, UT. I graduated from Cedar High School in 2015, and now I am a junior here at Southern Utah University, going for a degree in Family Life and Human Development. I took an FLHD class my sophomore year of college and really enjoyed it, and since I already work in the FLHD field, I thought this would be a great major for me. I work at a local in home daycare with about 35 kids anywhere from infants to school age children. I have worked there for two years now, and I love it. I’m attending SUU because in this day in age, it is very important to have some sort of college degree, and since I want to be successful in whatever career I choose, I figured attending college would be a good place to start. In order to afford to pay tuition at SUU, I live on my parents little ranchette here in Cedar City, where I also keep my horses. I own two horses, PJ is a 28 year old appaloosa gelding and Bud is a eight year old AQHA gelding. In my spare time I love to ride my horses, or do anything horse related. I also love to compete in horse shows put on by a local club called Color Country Equestrian Club. I have served as secretary of this club for a about three years. Early in the morning I like to spend my time at the gym getting a good workout in, and any spare time I have is usually spent with my boyfriend. We really enjoy watching TV. One of my favorite shows right now is Game of Thrones, along with Grey’s Anatomy, and Dancing with the Stars. Since I started college I have learned a lot about time management. I used to always be a couple minutes late to wherever I was going, and didn’t really care. But since I’ve been in school and had all these new things added to my plate, I’ve learned how to get up very early in morning and how to make the best use of my time in order to get everything done that I need to every day. Now I really pride myself on my efficiency and timeliness.
